Resetting System Menu to a Touch Tone Resetting System Menu to a Touch Tone

You cannot access your system by phone because you disabled the System Menu setting in Touch Tone & Call Handling. System Menu is set as the default for the star (*) key. The System Menu is what allows you to login to your system over the phone in order to listen to your messages, record your own greetings, etc.

You do have the ability to change the touch tone that System Menu is assigned to, however, if you do, you need to reassign System Menu to another touch tone if you wish to be able to access your system by phone. Remember that our support instructions assume that System Menu is set to the (*) key, so when following our instructions you will have to substitute the touch tone you use for System Menu wherever you see the (*) key mentioned.

To set System Menu to a touch tone the first thing you need to do is decide which touch tone you want to use for System Menu. Go to Settings, under Phone & Fax click on Touch Tone & Call Handling. Under Touch Tone Options choose a touch tone and click on the drop down menu. Select System Menu. Click on the Update button at the lower right corner.

Then call your toll-free number and press the touch tone you selected for System Menu. Enter your access code followed by the pound (#) sign.
