Fax Viewing Challenges Fax Viewing Challenges

The fastest way to resolve issues with viewing faxes is to change your settings in the Business Center to use your computer's native fax viewer. Instructions on how to troubleshoot the Business Center fax viewer can also be found on this page.

Your Computer's Native Fax Viewer


To use your computer's own fax viewing program:

  1. Click on "Settings" from within your Business Center.
  2. Select "Default fax viewer" in the "My Business Center" section.
  3. Select "Use my computer's fax viewer"
  4. Click "Update"

 

If you are still having trouble viewing a fax in your system or the View Fax window opens but remains blank, you will need to check (and possibly reset) two settings in your browser. Check to make sure that your security permissions are enabled for "ActiveX Controls" and "Plug-ins" by following these steps:

Click on the "Tools" menu and select "Internet Options."

Select the "Security" tab at the top.

Near the bottom, click on the "Custom Level" button.

In the Security Settings window, scroll down until you see the header "ActiveX controls and plug-ins", scroll down to option 7 (Download unsigned ActiveX controls) and option 8 (Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe) options must not be set to "Disable." If they are, set them to "Prompt."

Click "OK" and then "OK" again to close the options windows.
Now, when you next click on the View button in your fax document manager, you will be prompted to install the ActiveX Control. Choose Yes and your document should now

Depending on your connection speed this could take several minutes.

You will want to do a typical install to do so just follow it's prompts.

After you download Java you want to delete cookies and temporary internet files for IE7

Make sure you are not on your website and your business center is not open.

At the Top of your Internet Explorer, next to Help and Favorites, you will see TOOLS

A. "Tools" click on that and go to

B. "Internet Options" that will open a new window

In the middle of that new window it says Browsing history as a heading

Underneath it you will see 2 Buttons; Delete... and Settings

Click on the Delete ... button , click on the following buttons (one at a time) "Delete files", "Delete cookies" and "Delete history", once each section has been deleted click on "Close"

These steps can normally take a few seconds to a minute, so please be patient

Lastly You want to Click on the Settings Button

It reads: check for newer versions of stored pages... and you want to make sure "Every time I visit the webpage" is marked if not mark it at this time and click "OK".

You will now be back to where we started, you can click the "OK" button at the bottom of this page.

As we are now done. Close all windows and restart Internet Explorer.
